Feliz Dia de Independencia

July 8th was our 7th anniversary. We celebrated by having a nice relaxing night in. We also made popcorn with Adrielle for the first time. She was absolutely transfixed by the popping sound, even if she didn't get to taste any of the end product. We're pretty sure she's going to take after her momma and make it one of her favorite snacks.

July 9th is Argentina's Independence Day. We all celebrated the best way we know how, by putting on our Messi replica jerseys and drinking mate with Nona. Nona absolutely got a kick out of Adrielle in her little Argentina jersey.

4th of July

Opa and Oma came to visit on the 4th of July. Opa ran in the Freedom Run early in the morning and took first place in his age division, adding to his already rather cluttered trophy cabinet.

We then went to a BBQ at one of Opa's friends' house and went down to the Freedom Festival and walked around the shops for a while.

We then came home and got ready to go see the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire.

A couple days later we decided to do our matching family pictures. These are for you Angela.

Happy Birthday Emmitt

On July 2, we went up to Eureka for Emmitt's birthday. Erik had a baseball game that everyone went to while Adrielle and daddy took a nap.

Then everyone got back and the festivities began. Emmitt had a great time opening presents and was very excited for his baseball cake. Adrielle had a great time celebrating with the cousins, and Ryan and I got to watch the RSL game after the party.

Michi's 10 year reunion

Michelle and I both graduated in the class of 2003, which means that this summer are our 10 year reunions (a pretty sobering thought for both of us). Michi's came first on June 29. It was a fun gathering with a lot of friends that I'd met before but also some that I hadn't. Adrielle had a great time with our friend Jason.

A visitor from Germany and wearing Momma's dress

On June 24, Adrielle got to meet one of my good friends from my mission. While serving in Potsdam, Tobi came to a ton of lessons and was always going out on splits with us. He was in the US for a couple weeks and decided to stop by with Kyle Erdmann, who was one of the missionaries I served with.

Later that week, Michi pulled out her blessing dress and we got some good pictures of Adrielle looking just like her Momma.

Happy to be back in normal clothes
